What You'll Do

Have your first conversation with an AI chatbot by asking it to help with everyday tasks. This task is highly guided with specific prompts to try.

1Choose an AI tool to use

ChatGPT: https://chat.openai.com Claude: https://claude.ai Gemini: https://gemini.google.com Pick any one - they all work similarly!

2Open the website and find the text box

(usually at the bottom of the screen)

3Try each of the prompts below

(copy and paste them, or type them in your own words)

Prompt 1: Simple Question

Prompt - Copy and paste this:
What are three interesting facts about Montana?

What to notice:

  • -How quickly does it respond?
  • -Are the facts accurate based on what you know?
  • -Is the response easy to read?

Prompt 2: Recipe Helper

Prompt - Copy and paste this:
I have ground beef, potatoes, and onions in my kitchen. Can you suggest a simple dinner recipe using these ingredients?
Follow-up Prompt - Try this:
Can you make that recipe for 2 people instead?

What to notice:

  • -Did it remember what recipe you were talking about?
  • -Is the recipe practical?

Prompt 3: Writing Help

Prompt - Copy and paste this:
I need to write an email to my neighbor asking if they can water my plants while I'm out of town next week. Can you help me write a friendly email?
Follow-up Prompt - Try this:
Can you make it shorter?

What to notice:

  • -Is the tone appropriate?
  • -Would you actually send this email (maybe with small edits)?

5Prompt 4: Your Choice!

Now think of something YOU actually want help with. Some ideas: - Planning a birthday party - Writing a thank-you note - Understanding a concept you're curious about - Getting gift ideas for someone - Organizing your weekend tasks Type your own question and see what happens!

General Tips

Getting Unstuck:
